BCB President Congratulates Carrington
19 Feb 2014

The BCB is pleased to confirm that the West Indies Cricket Umpires' Association (WICUA) has just released its 2013 Oral & Practical Exams results and BCUA member Emmerson Carrington was a successful candidate. Coupled with his previous success in passing WICUA's  Written Exam, Carrington is now a fully qualified umpire.

Mr. Lloyd Fray, BCB President commended Mr. Carrington on his achievement, “On behalf of the BCB I would like to congratulate Mr. Carrington on becoming a fully qualified umpire. The BCUA have an excellent education program and pathway for aspiring officials to become fully qualified umpires. The BCB works closely with the BCUA and the ICC to provide our officials with local and international experience. Bermuda has consistently produced high caliber umpires that have received significant recognition from the ICC. The opportunities for local umpires to experience international competition officiating continues to be significant. I would like to take this time to encourage all those interested in following Emmerson’s example to sign up for the FREE beginners Umpiring course which starts on Tuesday 25 February.”

The BCUA extends congratulations to Umpire Emmerson Carrington on attaining this significant achievement in his cricket umpiring career and thank all those within the cricket community who have helped Carrington reach this goal. Carrington's success is testament to the BCUA's commitment of establishing a pathway for umpires' development which includes providing qualified and quality umpires capable of standing both locally and internationally.
